Books on Communist Party history in scrapyard

Activists of the Belarusian Christian Democracy (BCD) have celebrated the 96th anniversary of the October revolutionary overthrow in their own style: the day before November 7 they sold books on Marxist-Leninist doctrine for pulping.

According to them, as the Belarusian authorities remain loyal to the Bolshevik ideology they keep using old techniques of manipulating society.

A worker at a recycling centre expressed her regret that such books were not often junked. ‘The rest must have been thrown away a long time ago,’ the participants joked.
