Prosecutors warn Belsat TV contributor

Aliaksandr Barazenka was warned against contribution for foreign mass media without having the MFA’s accreditation.
Natallia Zhukavets, a counsellor of justice, had a talk with the independent journalist and served him a written warning saying that Aliaksandr Barazenka worked as a cameraman for television channel Belsat. Prosecutors state that he has violated the law on mass media.
To our deepest regret, Belsat journalists and contributors have to perform their professional duties without ane accreditation. In December 2009, the application to register the channel’s official representative office in Minsk was turned down for the second time. These days Belsat TV has made another attempt and filed all the necessary documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: the decision is to be taken soon.
