Belarus reports: No cases of swine flu

Several cases of so-called swine flu or virus type A/H1N1 have been recently recorded in neighbouring Poland and Ukraine: two Poles have died.

One of them died at a hospital in New Targ, the other in Bielsko-Biala hospital where there are currently 13 other people with the same diagnosis.

According to Ina Karaban, Senior Infective Disease Officer of the Ministry of Public Health, single cases of flu type B or A(H3N2) are being established in our country.

Belarusian should not be concerned about a probable detection of swine flu, Mrs Karaban stressed. “The virus developed into pandemic two years ago but at the moment it poses no hazard,” she said.
