Watching cameras record of no use


Only two dark silhouettes were captured by surveillance cameras installed in the territory of the Lithuanian Embassy to Belarus. It is impossible to specify whether criminals were males or females, Lithuanian policemen told Belarusian investigative bodies. The footage has not been handed over to them yet.
The attack on the Lithuanian Embassy in Minsk was launched on November 6, at 22:48. Two unindentified individuals threw Molotov’s cocktails to the territory of the embassy situated in Zakharau street. The bottles containing incendiary mixture caught fire but Lithuanian security guards managed to extinguish it. As the bottles fell on the paving they did no harm.
After the crime scene examination the things of constitute evidence (splinters of glass, pieces of bottles) were seized: they will be sent for analysis.
The Belarusian Investigation Committee initiated a criminal case for gang hooliganism (Art.339 of the Criminal Code). At the moment the sides are discussing the level of its investigating. Lithuania voiced its protest over the incident and demands that official Minsk guarantee security of the diplomatic mission.
