Nine-meter Belarusian national flag in centre of Warsaw


The giant colour near the Royal Palace in the centre of the Polish capital attracted everybody’s attantion on September 19, 2012.
According to interpolit.net, this is the way that the Belarusians living in Poland celebrated the Day of National Emblem and Flag. The action was held by the Belarusian National Remembrance, a Belarusian organisation located in Poland.
On September 19, 1991, the Belarusian parliament adopted the state symbols of the Belarusian People’s Republic, the Pahonia and the White-red-white flag, as state symbols of the Republic of Belarus but the referendum in1995 came back to the Soviet-like flag.
